Has anyone else had a problem with their leaf springs hitting their e-brake cable? As part of the the fabtech lift, I had to flip the bracket upside down to give more slack in the line. I noticed today that my spring has hit it and destroyed the outer portion of the tube, you can actually see the cable now. Is there a fix for this? (besides no block and spring with more arch!!)

If you can"t get that link to work go to bajataco.com click on off road stuff, then go to brakes and scroll to bottom of page and there will be a link to the emergency cable, I suck at the internet
Or he can click here.

Here's where I teach you how to fish:

  • Go to the site you want to link to,
  • copy the address from the address bar,
  • highlight the text you want to act as a link in your post (in my case "here"),
  • click on the pic of the earth with chainlinks under it in the post window (advanced mode only).
This way you wouldn't have had to worry about transposition errors; you had put a 2 where it should've been a 1.

I noticed in your sig your running chevy springs so this might not apply to you, the problem is that the cable goes over stock springs fine but if you install an add-a-leaf or aftermarket springs that have more leafs than the factory pack you will rub because you've made the pack thicker so it sticks up higher above the axle, example the factory pack has 4 leafs and my OME's have 7 which make them rub slightly

Your thinking of a different area. I ran the fabtech lift stock for about 6 months. He is talking about a clamp that holds the e-brake cable and it is located next to the gas tank.

Here is a picture of the clamp he is talking about

04s must be diff, mine goes along side the axle towards the bottom, not over the top, and over the leaf pack.

That is exactly what i needed! Thanks for the link, it is such a simple fix, I feel foolish for not figuring it out myself. Hell, I already have what i need to fix it with siting in my garage!
