What kind of air filter do you have?
The stock kind, I found inside the airbox when I removed the air filter a small pool of oil at the bottom of the airbox inside. The air filter was kind of soak in oil... traced it all the way from the airbox to the throttle body.

Like Thomas said, its oil getting blown past the PCV into the throttle body. I had a similar issue, but didnt get it into the air box. I've got an oil catch can that I'll be installing to solve the problem.

What about a broken ring(s) on the piston(s) therefore allowing the oil to travel past the PCV valve and into the air box?

There would be other, more serious issues beyond a small amount of oil in the air box.
