i have searched and nothing, and the only info i found about this on this board was about a 6cyl (is the 6cyl in the same location as the 4cyl?). so, i want a write or some help about changing out the fuel filter for a 2.7 4cyl 02 prerunner. thanx for your help

I got a 99 2.7 and the fuel filter is a gigantic pain to replace. did it at the 60k and it is located under the exhaust manifold (driver side of engine) in a very hard place to reach. 6 cyl on the other hand is under the drivers seat on the inboard side of the frame rail. Anyhow have patience and maybe a contortionist, thought i lost my right arm to the engine bay for a while. Be sure yu put the end pieces back correctly They have three cutouts to allow for the fuelline to enter at a 90 degree angle. Use the right size to keep things tight. I did not and it led to a ringign vibration at 2500 rpm. good luck.

they are a major PITA to change. Showstop has a good writeup on the how-to, though.
