It will be really hard to steer. Might as well do a twin stick at the same time.

Also, I seem to remember someone posting that Detroit does not and will not make a locker for the Taco rear ends. Anyone else recall this?

I would not do this I would run a lockrite it the front. There will be some give with a lock rite unlike a spool.....IMHO

Ok cool it was just one of those late night things you know when a few beers are gone and the ideas are clear "or so you think" Yea I figured there were a few downsides to this idea cool cool I'll do something else.

First off...that spool will only work on a Tacoma axle with the E-locker. It is designed to work on the older Toy axles, not the newer styles.

Second, unless you are into some hardcore mudding or drag racing (ie- driving in a straight line), a spool in the front is never a good idea. Front spool + 4WD = NO STEERING

The other suggestions of a lock-right or a selectable locker in the front are good advice.

And ARB locker would be a better choice. You would have a lot of snap, crackle, and pop with a spool and IFS.
