i dont want a tundra, but it pisses me off that i see the new commercials and they advertise better mileage than i get, with a 350+ hp V-8 !
i guess its like cell phones, everytime you buy a new one, its old already.

16'ish per gallon, lots of highway speeds. My latest mod is a credit card that pays points for gas purchases.

I would possibly say, Tacoma Sport's have a different tire vice the Off-Roads and this may be a difference in MPG, I get about 17 with my Off Road.

im averaging 19-20 on my v6 sport 4x4 (stock) I get about 350-360 per tank before the light comes on. This is taking it very easy on the highway to work, 50 miles each way mostly all highway.

I used to only get about 270 per tank, but that's up to 300 as the tires have worn down. I'll be back to getting crappy mileage in a month or two...

You are lucky. I have a prerunner Dbl Cab, v6 and yesterday I filled up 17.6gallons for 310 miles, which ironically is 17.6 mpg. I've been taking it easy, both highway and city driving mixed, w/ 265/75/16 tires.

On my old 4Runner, I got ~21mpg with the stock tires, and when I went up a tire size, it dropped to 19mpg. So it seems about right that you've dropped 2-3mpg from the bigger tires.

In my 06 TRD offroad I used to regularly get 370 miles to the tank when it was dead stock. After that I put BFG A/T 265/75r16's on there and it dropped slightly. Now with those same tires and a 3" lift, my fuel light regularly comes on at 300-310 miles and I get about 330 miles to the tank. For the life of the truck, I'm averaging 18mpg.

wouldnt the width of the tire effect the mileage more than just the size around? I got 272 miles on one tank all highway....I was actually sorta scared I might run out of gas before I made it to the town....luckily there was an exit before the half mile or so hill that lead to the next exit for that town. I think I calculated approx. 15 mpg for that (if I computed correctly) and that was going anywhere from 65mph to about 85 or 90?

05 DC TRD OR, Auto, stock tires; bought it 2 weeks ago.
1st tank was 16 mpg--87 octane.
I just filled 'er up with 88.5 octane. We'll see what it does. I know that my Isuzu gets better gas mileage with 89 than 87, 15 vs 17 mpg, IIRC. Enough that I break-even money-wise by running better gas. Toyota might be the same.
