i have an 88 pickup with a 4 inch lift and 33's i was going to put a solid axle in the front but i dotn have the money or time because of school and work....i was wondering if i should use 4.88 gears or 5.29's for my front and rear end so i can run 35's ....i have stock gearing in my truck now with 33's and my gas mileage blows...i am also goin to put a 3 inch body lift on it so the 35's have no trouble clearing

I would think you would want 5.29's with either of the available motors.
Just cut shit to make the tires fit.

Yep - 5.29's.

(If you had an auto, I would say reconsider the 35's. It won't hold the overdrive even with 5.71's)

This is true. I have an auto, 35s, and 4.10s with the 22RE. At 65 I'm taching 2900-3000. I'm figuring with the 4.56s and 302/C6 I'll be around 2600-2800.

 You must mean 65 on the speedo, which is probably closer to 75-80 real speed...

Molly's 4Runner with 5.71's and 35's is doing about 2500 RPM at 70MPH...and since the motor doesn't make ANY power below 3000RPM, that's a problem.

5.29's if it's a manual, 5.71's if it's an auto. Ignore all the other crap.
