I'm looking at purchasing a 1998 Tacoma 4x4 w/ 77,000 miles. Extended cab V6 5spd, TRD, full power. Appears in good condition, has small oil leak at front diff. and needs 4 tires. Sale price is $10,200. After Indiana sales tax and doc fee total is just under 11K. Any thoughts on this deal? I really like this truck, the only negative, for me anyway, is the ADD front axle. I would like to lift this truck in the future, and am worried about CV boot life w/ the ADD and a lift. Thanks.

You inspect the truck in person? Drive it etc. For 10200 I would allow a few body glitches. Front diff leak is nothin. If it is really slow, fill it every month. If not, take it out and reseal it. Not hard. Only those dmn CV nuts. But if all checks out good JUMP YOUR ASS ON IT!!! That would be a kickass deal. I bought a 99 TRD prerunner V6 for 10 in sacramento, CA. That was 600 under blue book. On Ebay a similar vehicle in great running shape, very good condition (few small etchings but glossy paint) no dings would got for around 12-13.

Wait....sale price...??? Is it a dealer?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have inspected and driven the truck. Couple of small scratches on tailgate, but otherwise very straight. R. taillight is broken, but dealer has agreed to replace. I also thought this was a kick ass deal, but its always nice to get some positive reinforcement.
