I'm looking for a solid, trustworthy Toyota wrench. Preferably in the Santa Cruz area but as far away as the San Jose or Salinas areas would be fine too. I have a few nagging engine/drivetrain issues with my '96 4Runner and the local stealership has already raped me for $300 with ZERO results.

Chris, Hytenor has good comments for his dealership in Richmond I believe. Another one I know is toywerks in grover beach. Its super further but the owner is former dealer tech, wheels his LT prerunner and is memember here. I think his name is daniel.

Good luck.

BTW whatever your issues?

Not a dealership but a pro fabrication shop. They are located in Campbell and their name is Arabia’s Overkill Jeep Fabrication. 408-626-8660. Check em out on the web.

I have been happy with all work performed by them.

I know of Arabias, they have done motor work for Jesse on the old CJ-5. Do they work on late model Toyota's though? I thought of them as Jeep specialists more or less.

Hey!! When I'm at home in Santa Cruz I take my truck into SC auto tech they do great work on everything! If you have a specific Offroad aftermarket Toyota problem then this guy in Santa Rosa(yotaman a.k.a. Larry Kitahara ) knows what to do, yodaman's shop is awesome and his truck is one of the best later model trucks i've seen. Yodaman doesn't have a website though

I have 2 shops for you that I go to and I am very pleased with them!
in Santa Cruz: Santa Cruz Auto Tech, 738 N Branciforte Ave
Santa Cruz, CA 95062...831-429-1209

Also a great Toyota Specific Offroad shop in Santa Rosa: Team Yodaman, 327 Sutton Place Santa Rosa, CA 95407...707-586-7840 yodaman is a great shop that is not known of and he does great work, and u could spend days looking at his truck and his sons! hope this helps

True, they do a lot of Jeep stuff, but they also do work on most types of 4-WD.They work on Toyota’s and will do anything from a timing belt to SAC and beyond. Come summer time they are focused more on the high-zoot Jeep fabrication stuff. Never hurts to call.
