I am looking at 285/75/16 Goodyear MTRs or Bridgestone Revo. I love the way the Goodyears look, and, being in Alabama, lots of mud to play in, so the Goodyears seem to be a good choice. On the downside, I do a lot of highway driving, and I don't want to be bouncing around bc of my tires. I have read reviews that say the Goodyears are pretty quiet and smooth, but I was wondering if anyone could help? Thanks for any help.

If you do mud the goodyear is not the ideal tire. It's a great tire in rocks and I aint knocking it. Between it and the Revos, yeah it's a better mud tire. But there are less expensive tiresw in that size that will give you decent road manners and do better than both in water saturated dirt.

I have the MTR's and I agree that they are not the best in the mud.(Awesome in rocks though) The wetter mud I'm sure they are fine. It's when you get into that clay type mud where they are not that good. The thicker the mud the more you are going to want the lugs more spaced out.

The BFG Mud-Terrain KM's are great in the mud, and they are pretty damn quiet.
i will second that you go with bfg mud for what your talking, if you didnt drive so much i would say go baja claw all the way, i went from bfg mud to claw and will never go back, but its because i dont really drive on the highway.

Being from a similar area, Chattanooga,TN. I would highly recommend the BFG M/T's..We have alot of the same type of terrain you run in here..I wouldn't trade mine for anything at this point..Just my .02

I have those tires on mine and love them. They are wearing like steel and are pretty close to as quiet as my BFG AT's were. They are awesome, great on the road, even the rain.
