Guage Face/Bezel Replacement?

1850 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  HoT_DoGgIN
Had a question Guys.... Was just lookin' around for some white faces for my guages on my 98' 2.7 w/ tach... I am having trouble finding just a straight white guage face replacement, and maybe a brushed aluminum bezel. I have also seen some "reverse el glo" guages which look really cool when they are illuminated at night. They often say something about having to install an inverter, and look like the face doesn't illuminate evenly... Anyone ever used these? Easy to install? Good product? Let me know what you think... Also, where could I get a set of new needles for the guages so they somewhat match if I do actually do this?

Thanks guys!

I got my glow gauges off ebay, simular to these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7941729915&category=43952 I am very happy with them and they look very nice at night. [By the way this auction LIES when they say you "dont have to remove the gauge needles for installation". There is no way to install the tach or the speedo on outr trucks without removing the needles. BUT, don't worry, it is easy, just pull straight up. When you reinstall just put the them back so they point to 0 again]

You should be able to find a bezel on ebay too.

The inverter was included with the kit I got, anf in the link above. I just wired the positive to the headlight switch, so it comes on with them. The glow is uniform, and can be adjusted with the included dimmer, full blast will blind you at night :).

I just kept the same needles did not see any reason to replace them.

The only hard part, really, is diasembling the dash.

i have those
I am pretty happy with them
I have had them for over 1 year, no problems, I just should have removed the stock instrument bulbs.

What do you mean remove the stock instrument bulbs... Do you mean that you left the bulbs in, and also used the glo when they were illuminated? Can't you wire the guages into the lighting circuit so that when you turn on your parking/headlights... they illuminate?
