Any tips for hard wiring a 400watt power inverter. Any tech write ups I could look at?

i have a 1000 watt one waiting to be installed. i guess its pretty simple. just hook pos to pos on batt and neg either to the batt or to the chassis. Dont forget to bolt er on down and i was also thinking of putting something over the terminals to cover them just incase nothing connects em to make em start arc-ing.

Now what about wire gauge, I know you loose voltage the further you travel from the battery......Also are you going to add a fuse? Thanks for the info

I have a 1200 watt inverter bolted in the right rear side wall of the bed. I ran 1/0 guage hot & ground wire from the battery, under te truck, into the bed through a cavity behind the right taillight. Some inverters will have chassis ground. Use the biggest wire you can, inverters take ALOT of power.

anyone have a setup with a dual battery or deep cycle setup? or how would a 1500watt inverter work with a 1000watt amp?
