A cracked manifold will NOT trigger a check engine light. Might I recommend you find another mechanic?pulser said:Well the garage just called my check engine light is because I have a cracked manifold and possibly 2 bad O2 senders. But they cant tell till I fix the manifold. So time for aftermarket. What’s a good set of headers to get ?

If you have a 2.7L engine, then check out the LC Engineering headers. They have a really well built design. www.lcengineering.com
URD has some good prices on the O2 sensors:pulser said:Yea its for a 96 2.7L. And i think i have a bad O2 sencer too.
its the same as the downey, thats actually where i got mine for 180$, only prb is that i only got 1/2 of it, i had to weld a piece of stainless to it, yeah it was cheap, but it was a pain in the ass, i dunno why they do this, but call them, they told me it had something to do with the intro to the egr in 99Sam Damage said:anyone familiar with Baja Racing Products? www.bajaconcepts.com/bajaracingproducts they have ceramic headers for the 95-01 2.7 for about 225
i have no idea about their quality though.
Stick with the LC header. The Downey headers for the 2.7L are total crap. I had mine on for 60k miles and it cracked at the collector and leaked where the 2 pieces joined. I trashed the thing and bought the LC.Sam Damage said:thanks ... if it requires serious modification i might go back to my first choice of the LC headers, since theirs is supposed to include everything needed to install and should be a direct fit.
thanks again
Sam Damage said:LCE's on-line store doesn't give a lot of info about the headers ... what amount of performance is gained with them? gotta be like 150 hp right?? lol j/k
tanKoma said:go with LC header, as for the CEL, it might be only one sensor is bad, one way to narrow it down, disconnect the battery for like 5 min and then reconnect and drive it around, if it comes on within like 5 miles down the road its most likely sensor no 1, if it takes like a day its sensor no2
