I have not been on the board here in quite a while (probably 3 years) .
But I was hoping I could get some input on choosing a bumper. I have a 2000 taco standard cab 4x4 with 3" corn spacers and a 3" BL with 33x12.5x15 bfg mt. Anyway my front stock (tupperware) bumper is in need of a replacement. Thing is with the 3" BL I will have to relocate the mount upward 3" to take care of the gap below the grill from the BL, I am not real worried about the bumper integrity due to the relocation but are there any other options out there? I kind of like the looks of the TJM T17 but it's a bit more than I want to spend right now if there are any other options out there let me know, and if anyone has pics of there rigs with aftermarket front bumpers please post them I would really appreciate any input/help
Thank you

I just got this one made by Steve at C.B.I. Off-Road Fab in Rigby, Idaho: http://printcraftpress.com/v-web/gallery/tacoma-front-bumpers/toms_raw_front

It was completely custom built, from scratch, and tailored to my needs. It cost me less than half of what an ARB bull bar would cost. It doesn't provide coverage of the core support like the bull bars do, but it was designed for lightweight and good approach angle.

It came out weighing about 70 pounds, but it's extremely stout and well engineered.

I don't know where you are located, but people have come from as far away as Southern California to have Steve craft a bumper for them.

Thank you
That is a nice bumper, I too am looking for a fairly lightweight option. I wonder what the arb and tjm bumpers tip the scales at?

My T17 was about 65 lbs, without the wing pieces and brackets. No winch frame. Altogether about 70lbs, I'm guessing

ARB bull bar with related hardware is 110 - 115 lbs. With M8000 Warn, cable, and roller fairlead, 187 lbs. HEAVY. I guessed the tupperware bumper at about 30 lbs, no a net gain of 75 or so with an ARB.

Thats a sweet bumper AK98!

I'm wondering what you will do (or have done) about the turn signals.

I'm actually thinking of doing the same, removing the ARB blinkers, and installing a couple of small fog lights in their place to increase my side lighting. Now I just have to find fog lights to fit the ARB cut outs.
