I have an 02 D-Cab with Kings set at 2" over stock up front and Alcans at 3" over stock in back. I am also going to get some 15x8 rock crawlers. I can't decide what I should do next. Would you go with 32x11.5 and no new fender flares, or 33x12.5 and get Bushwacker cutouts (let's assume I can get these on my truck)? I'm not an extreme offroader at all, and actually prefer desert fun to rock climbing. That said, I don't want a lot of rubbing, but a little is tolerable. Also, if I go with the 32s and forget about the Bushwackers, the $ saved could go towards a nice pre-runner style bumper and skidplate. So what would you do???

I would go with 32's. From what I have read with only 2" of lift you will not be able to fit 33's. With 3" and some fender trimming you can probably fit them. Most say you need 6" to clear 33's, but a friend of mine clears 33's with OME 882's. (2.75-3")

agreed stay with 32"s not as bad in power loss if you really want the 33's you'll need a bodylift too or would rub too much.
I have a set of 5 32X11.50R15 mounted on eagle alloy 589's for sale in phx.
PM me if interested.

my donahoes are set at 2.5" and i still rub 32's off road even with the pinch weld mod. i rubbed on the street when they were only set at 2", but i cranked them up a little more and they're fine on the street. my rims are 15x8 w/ 3.75" BS and i run 32x11.5 BFG MT's

I also have an 02 ducab, and strangely enough am running 33s with 3" of lift and almost no rubbing issues...I did the pinch weld mod, and had to put round head screws in the rear fenderflare holes so they wont get ripped off at extreme flex, but other wise have no trouble. I dont do A LOT of extreme stuff, but do enjoy stretchin' her every now and again. Some say 33s will rub like crazy, I dont know why, but mine sure don't. :D

Wow, that is surprising to hear given the previous responses. Also, I see that you do not have the Bushwacker cutouts. I wonder if MTRs tend to run a little small. Also, what wheels and backspacing do you have???

I have 285 Muds and OME 882 springs up front. My drivers side rubs like a striper givin a lap dance! Everything rubs on the frame, so we wont talk about that, but I can make them hit the pinch weld just by going backwards and turning left! Would I put 33's? Sure! Who cares...the rubbing noise just adds character!

I am runnin Eagle alloy 1189 15x8 with 3.75 backspacing. I have been quite surprised at the lack of rubbing also considering all the info on the forum and the rubbing issues posted, but like they say...every truck is different and I suppose I am just lucky as for the rubbing...It is my understanding that the MTRs run about average in size. All I can say is give it a shot and if they rub...MORE LIFT!!! :D :D :D
if you want I can email some pics...
