I have an 02' Tacoma. I just put in a RS3200 alarm in it from e-bay.

Is there a way to tap in somehow to the alarm or somehow make it trigger off a contact switch I can install on my camper shell? That way, if someone opens the shell the alarm will go off. I searched the forums, but didn't find anything...

Cheers!

I'm not sure about your alarm, but I played around with a different types of switches. My alarm was installed at Jerkit City, and we tried a few different sensors before settling with the one installed now. They went through a mercury switch on the glass and a few different configurations of the pin switch mounted on the shell that is pushed in by the glass closing. The set-up that worked for me was using a sensor similar to the type installed on sliding glass doors in homes like this http://norcoalarms.com/ezStore123/DTProductZoom.asp?productID=1006 . My shell has a handle on each side of the glass so one of the contacts is install on the inside of the handle, and the other on the on the shell. If the handle is turned, the alarm goes off.

Cool, I think I will splice into the door switch and then install a switch on the door. www.allelectronics.com has all kinds of cheap switches

Thanks!
