Ok my leaking exhaust manifold finally got to me enough that I just bought a Pacesetter header (2.7l) on eBay. Has anyone installed one of these before? They are made in the USA, and have a 3 year warranty, so I can't imagine they are that bad. Thanks!

I seriously doubt they're worth the pot metal they're made of! Go w/ LCE or NWOR. Peace, Wes

Before you say that, I actually got it in the mail today and installed it. The fit was absolutely perfect (my brother's NWOR required a few hole enlargements), and the overall quality and construction is surprisingly great! I haven't gotten to test drive it yet (it's 3am now) but I'll let you know if there's any performance difference.

I can't speak for how those are on the yota's but i had one on my eclipse and it was extremely mediocre. After about 2 months the ceramic coating flaked off, the header tubes pulled away from the flange on the block and a leak developed and the swivel on the downpipe. Just my experience w/them.

I'm willing to bet over time that thing is gonna go to shit. But, that's just my opinion. Hope not though, cause I'm sure it was a PITA to put on. Peace, Wes

Its funny you say that on the way to work yesterday I blew one of the gaskets on my pacesetter. I had it installed on tuesday POS gaskets man, the place that did the install was cool and replaced it with a better gasket. If was going to keep my truck for longer than a year I would get a better header, LCE or a Downey. You get what you pay for I guess. :soapbox:

Well that just plain damn sux, lol. No exhaust or header is perfect though, I'm sure all of em' are fully capable of fucking up. From what I hear, Downey ain't worth a shit either. As soon as I can, a damn LCE will be on my truck, cause that exhaust manifold is lookin nice and crackely! I was hoping to get it done over Spring Break, but then I got my paycheck and it was rather pathetic b/c I was out for like 3 days b/c of the flu. Amazing how 3 days can make of break you. Oh well, I'll tackle it 1 weekend some time soon. Peace, Wes

Hey-
In reply to your other message, I'm up north in Morris County, but I do go down to the Ocean County area every once in a while if you are interested in meeting up. And to this- as soon as I saw the supplied gaskets, I just went to toyota and got OEM ones to use instead- They are working great for me now.

1000 mile follow up- So far so good! I'm sure it isn't the best product, but I have no complaints yet- sure beats the cracked manifold.

I think thats what I am going to do is go to the dealership and get the OEM gaskets. Mine is leaking again (man this sucks) did you have any problems with the oem gaskets working on your pacesetter?
