is this kevin? randy?i'm jeremy from aspen with the purple taco, what do you mean by rack? like the ifs steering rack? i talked to jay at allpro today and he said this set up is real sweet, only problem is adapting the pump to the taco set up,do you think it will be hard to fab ? :welder: i've pretty much decided this is the direction i'm going
I was talking about the stock tacoma steering rack.. Your truck could use the Howe steering assist ram. We installed a howe system on a 4runner, and a AGR system on a truck. The howe was much nicer.. Both systems used a GM pump, we just made new brackets. With a 3.4, space is limited to where the pump could go. The GM pump is a little bigger. i don't know if the Toy pump would/could work with the ram?? Give Howe a call, Jeff is a real nice guy, he always has time for the average guy..

He sure was an ass the one time I called him. Maybe someone had just pissed in his cheerios or something just before I called.
Everyone has bad days.. Jeff Howe has always been more than helpfull for us. I know since they came out with their ram stuff for crawlers their business has over doubled, before that, they did mainly high end race stuff. Maybe you caught him at a high stress level day?? Howe still gets my vote.. We've had the same problems a few time over with the AGR system, and not a single problem with the Howe.. I guess when your back ground is steering Trophy trucks, your quality stays higher??? my .02

cool,it seems people don't know much about this system,it's been around a while,i'm gonna get one as soon as i have the $,and i'll post the results of getting it set up etc...
If you can find a steering box from a 92-95 4runner, Howe can tap into it for the lines, the earlier truck and runner boxes won't work. something about the check valve being in the nose cone on the input off of the steering. The older ones have the check valve inside the body of the box.
