It seems that way more people are killed in bicycle accidents that are killed in mass shootings in the US. A study by the FBI revealed that from 2000 to 2013 there were 64 incidents of “mass shootings”and that the gunmen involved in these caused 418 deaths. A separate study by the CDC discovered that more deaths were caused by people on bicycles in one year, than the entire 13 year period of mass shootings. There were 800 people killed by bicycles in 2010 alone.

We should all write our congress critters and demand they take action to protect those Americans too uneducated to put away their bicycles on their own. If it saves just one life, it'll be worth it. On a side note, I also read somewhere that a person is ten times more likely to be killed by their own bicycle than by somebody else's.

The idea:

Show that common everyday things are more dangerous than guns.

What we hope to accomplish:

We hope that the gun grabbers will see the obvious insanity of banning bicycles "Because it might save just one life", and then realize that it's the exact same thing as banning guns for the same reason.

"Because This Idea is stupid, and it's just like That Idea, then That Idea is stupid too"

What we aren't getting- Here is where we fail:

Gun grabbers are by nature Progressive Utopians. They have a vision of a much better world where everybody gets along, nobody is hungry, and everything is safe and controlled.

They think that the thing to do is pass law after law and continually push until finally, One Day, the world is an awesome place just like they imagined.

Unfortunately, these Utopians qualify as TRUE BELIEVERS.

By that, I mean that they believe in their Utopia completely and to the core.

Their belief is dogmatic and for all practical purposes qualifies as a religion.

It shouldn't take too long for most folks to come up with an example of a true believer that they have met at some time in their life.

The pilots that crashed into the World Trade towers are good examples.

These morons TRULY BELIEVED that killing 3000 people was a good thing to do. They did it expecting to be rewarded with a bunch of virgins.

Surely everybody has to realize that no amount of common sense would have talked these guys out of doing what they did. "Come on man... Do you really think ALLAH is going to give you a bunch of virgins to fuck for killing three thousand innocent people?"

The answer is yes, no matter how stupid the idea is- They Believed.

And so it is with our gun grabbers.

They cannot see that each and every single day since the beginning of whatever this is, man has fought and killed over silly ideas. There will never, EVER be a day when we "Just All Get Along".

They can't see how the warlords in Africa steal the food we send over there and use it as a pawn to help them control people, and there will never, EVER be a day when nobody goes hungry.

They can't see that in order to make everything safe and controlled, we have to concentrate power in one place, and power CORRUPTS.

They don't know that ABSOLUTE POWER ABSOLUTELY CORRUPTS.

These ideas are contrary to the things that they believe.

Arguing about this is exactly the same thing as trying to convince a Christian that there is no god.

It's just not possible. All you can achieve is to convince that gun grabber that you are crazy, and a good example of why they need to keep the guns out of your hands.

The good news is that TRUE BELIEVERS are not really very common. Most of the folks in their flocks are followers.

Followers can be reasoned with, to a degree.

And we have been doing an excellent job of waking up a lot of the followers.

Keep up the good work. we need to wake up a lot more of them.

The TRUE BELIEVERS, however, have managed to weasel their way to the very top of our government, and fully intend to have their way with us.

We must be diligent, We can never relax.

This is a long way from over.

Of course you guys know that I'm poking fun at those in our society that don't understand reasonable remediation, versus zero-tolerance. It is completely unreasonable to think, that every malady affecting one ten-thousandths of a percent of the whole, is reducible to zero. It's impossible to achieve and a tremendous waste of money and resources.

Puts things in perspective. Everybody riding pedal bikes on the hwy should be shot by those with guns. Only flesh wounds though as they are already endangered by Darwin and just need to be taught a lesson by Smith and Wesson .:)

That's good info, I need to remember that for the next time I get into a discussion with an anti-gun goofball.
We've got to learn to combat anti-gun zealots with their own methods.

Because we all know, its about controling us rather than actually protecting us.
