This was an expensive ($251.36 in parts) but easy job.

Truck runs much better now. I couldn't believe how gummed up the old IAC was. A can of fuel injector cleaner and a rag did a great job of removing the gunk from inside the throttle body.

And a minor adjustment of the idle screw (I tinkered with it previously) to get the warm engine idle rpms to around 750 and viola', life is good again.

(I think Chester was homesick for Moab)

IAC = Idle Air Control Valve. It's mounted on the bottom of your throttle body (at least on the 2.7L it is)..

I replaced my last year. It wouldn't move. It's supposed to rotate around to the side that has a cut out in it. Mine was totally jammed up.

Puting a new one on totally fixed that problem.

Obtw, I can't remember how much I paid for mine, but it was nowhere near that $251.00 price.. :D
