I installed a set of Bosch ceramic front brake pads today on my 01 Dub cab.

What a piece of cake! When you hear people say that the hardest thing is jacking up the truck & taking the wheel off...they're right.

For anyone needing new pads I highly recommend going with the Ceramic style. Usually you need a few hundred miles to bed pads in before they start "biting", but even on my first test drive it was immediately noticable. The brakes feel much stronger than before.
For anyone who installs bigger than stock tires they are a must.

I give the Bosch Ceramic pads two thumbs up.

Thats good to know. I bought a set off ebay for my new rotors, but failed to notice they were ceramic ENHANCED.... meaning they had very little if any ceramic in them. Oh well. How much were the bosch ones and where did you get them? Thanks.

I bought the pads from Murrays Discount auto, after discovering that Autozone no longer carried the pads that were recommended here.
I paid $55.00 for them.
They come with new stainless steel backers, so you don't have to reuse the old ones.
Before you upgrade your rotors for more stopping power, I would give the different pads a try, there is a night and day difference from the stock pads.

They also have a lifetime warranty...when they wear out, just bring them in & they will replace them for free.

Definately worth every penny, Bosch makes some good stuff.

just and FYI, ceramic pads will eat your rotors up faster than a semi mettalic pad will, so the next time you do brakes you might wanna check the thickness on them before you try and turn them. also ceramic is really only used just because it makes little to no dust...meaning leaves your wheels clean and not all black looking.

i know you are supposed to do all the proper steps, you know, bleeding, all that stuff, but does anyone else do like i do, and get to flat head screwdrivers, and push out enough to get the new ones in, and when it's done, just pump the breaks?? i have always done it like that, and it seems a whole lot easier than requiring two people to do the job.
