is my ps pump dead?

I recently lost all power steering in my truck and looked under the hood to find that the pully was wobbling around on the shaft and the belt wasn't connected to anything. Is this most likeley a problem with the pully? or could the pump have seized up and caused the pully to break off of the shaft?

also I noticed that there was some ps fluid on top of the resivor and the stuff inside was gummy looking (probably due to the low temps), its also a 2.7

The pulley was "wobbling"...? Was the nut on the shaft end still in place? The pulley should not be loose if the nut was still in place and tight. That is a splined shaft as well. Doubtful the belt would be strong enough to break the shaft if the pump has seized. The belt would come off or break first. You should have heard all this unless the radio was turned up loud. :D

Replace the belt and run the truck with the hood up. You should know what is wrong VERY soon afterward.
