OK.. i've looked and looked but can't find a pic of the mounting system for the new 05+ tacoma. i know i've seen it on a site somewhere but now i can't find it. i want to get a pic of it and then take it into my local supplier to show him. if you've seen that site can you post up the link?

Have you seen these racks? I just picked a used one this past winter and am going to mount it under my cap for a canoe/lumber....They sem very sturdy and it would only be 2 bolts per mount to remove it...

Rackwarehouse sells the Vanguard that should work (depending on the shell you might have to modify it a bit)

You can use the Yakima or Thule racks too- the tracks mount easily on the shells. I have Yakima Railriders on my truck and have carried my 65lb Dager kayak, a 15' Old Town Penobscot canoe and my mountain bike at the same time with no problems.

Here is an option...but you have to live in WV to be measured and pick up. They are totally bomber. Have a friend that had 14 white water kayaks on top of his Tacoma. He doesnt powder coat them so they tend to rust a bit....and the welds are not the prettiest. Ive heard of someone doing the same thing but in aluminum....but haven found who........Chris
