What's stock height on a v6 4wd tacoma, 95.5-04, front and rear. My truck was beat when I got it, and I am curious what its like new (and yes, I could go to a dealer and measure, but its pretty late at night for that).

Thanx

Search. I answered a question like this not more than a month ago.
I did a search for just that "stock height" - no matching results.

Guess I'll try again, better yet, I'll just look at your posts, now that you've tipped me off! ;)

Not to be a dick, but because I have nothing going on tonight, I checked back through your posts throughfeb, didn't spot the info. It might have been buried under some weird heading, who knows.

I'd appreciate if you can find it or point me in the right direction.

thanks,
Ian

I think I remember The Dick saying it was around 16" (front) or 16.5" (back) from ground to frame? I can't remember the exact numbers, but those are close.

I searched, too, and couldn't find where I posted it. I know I gave the info to someone, LOL. Sorry about the wild goose chase.

Here's the required factors for ride height:

-Ground clearance of spindle center, length A
-Ground clearance of front adjusting cam bolt center (lower control arm), length B
-Ground clearance of leaf spring front hanger pin center, length C
-Ground clearance of rear axle shaft center, length D

Specifications (this is with stock tire size and tire pressure to specification):

Length A minus length B = 44 mm or 1.732 in

Length C minus length D = 35 mm or 1.378 in

This should be measured after the vehicle is jounced.

I measured my frame before I did my SAS to get a baseline so I could see how high I lifted.

I measured from the frame to the floor between the wheels after the frame straightens out behind the front cab mount. It was 17" from the floor to the bottom of the frame. The back should sit about 1" higher measured right in front of the spring mount.

I know ground clearence for Std and Xtc cabs is around 11.4" and dbl cabs are 10.8".
Yes, I believe that's correct, as measured from the center of the front skid plate. I used the frame-to-floor measurement(s) to ensure my truck remained level after the SAS. :saw:

I agree, my truck was about 17" before the SAS, and that was with a slightly larger tire.

what size tires are those numbers based on, P225's, P265's or 31's ?
I'm basing my numbers on a 265/75-16. Factory is 265/70-16. There's about 1/2" difference in ride height. I'm assuming Dick's numbers were based on factory sized tires.
