i made my own coil spacer and diff. drop for my tacoma, i lifted it slightly less than 3.5", ive noticed that when i jack up the front end of the truck the upper ball joint come way to close to the coil spring, also when i unload the front suspension, like jumping railroad tracks the front end makes a creaking noise, i was wondering if any has made or knows where to find some limit straps to prevent this from happening, any help would kick ass

It sounds like you lifted the front too much and you are actually maxing out the ball joint. Assuming you are 4wd how many of the fins of your cv boots are touching each other?

I think that kartek, and camburg sell limit straps among other companies.

limit straps won't do much for you; you have too much lift for the ball joints. Expect the inner CV boots to wear out soon too. If you have ADD those outer CV joints won't last long either.

so 3.5 is to much but 3 isnt? would 1/2" really make that big of a difference? i have other spacers that would drop it that 1/2" nd see if the problem goes away
I just noticed that you have an '04. Yes, the 3.5" is most likely your problem. If you had manual hubs and an earlier model I would look elsewhere for the trouble but since you have ADD I'm afraid 2-2.5" is about all that is "safe". Some have gone 3" with this set up and had no problems at all but many only have a 2" lift and go through boots like crazy...luck-o-the-draw, I'm afraid. Drop your lift down to 2" and see what happens. If the problem goes away but you need more lift to clear your tires add a 1" body lift.
