To all politically active off road recreationalists:
The Friends of the California Off Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Program is proud to announce the 11th Annual Friends of the Off-Road Motor Vehicle Recreation Program Lobby Day at the State Capitol and legislative reception.
This year's event will be on Monday, April 11th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a reception at 5:00 that evening. For those new to lobby day and veterans who could use a brush up, there will be a brief lobbying training course from 4:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, April 10th at the Holiday Inn at 300 J Street.
Also that evening, there will be a cocktail reception hosted by the Baker family (CORVA & CA4WDC member) at the Holiday Inn.
This daylong program, includes a continental breakfast, legislative and
Schwarzenegger Administration guest speakers, lunch with guest speakers, and visits to legislator's offices. The day ends with a legislative and administration reception at Sacramento's historic Sutter Club. The Sutter Club does enforce a strict dress code, suits and ties for men and comparable attire for women are required. Cell phones and pagers are also prohibited in the Sutter Club.
We will endeavor to provide lunch for free to the participants, but it will depend on the amount of sponsorship that we are able to attract from off road organizations.
This event is sponsored by "The Friends of the California Off Road Motor Vehicle Recreation Program" and the invitations to legislators will reflect this.
As you may know, the California Off Road Vehicle Association (CORVA) will be holding their annual convention in Sacramento from April 9-10. They have set up special group rates at both the Holiday Inn and Vagabond Inn in downtown Sacramento. For rates and reservation information, visit the California League of Off Road Voters (CLORV) website at www.clorv.org.
Lastly, we need you to register so we can make the appropriate arrangements. This can be done primarily through logging on the California League of Off Road Voters (CLORV) website. There, you can either register electronically or print out a registration form that can be freely distributed to other interested parties.
If you know of any organizations that are interested in sponsoring this event please let us know. Also, if there are any questions please contact CLORV at (916) 447-1761.
We want to make this the largest off road lobby day yet, so please pass this along to anyone you know who may be interested in attending.
