So I have an 08 Tacoma TRD Dbl cab and need to run the usual electronic accessories from the bed mounted outlet, but now I need to run an ATV style seed spreader that I converted my old hitch mount bike rack to hold.

It's set up to run off a cig lighter. Instead of lengthening the cig cable it came with, I'd like to just plug it into the outlet in the back but i don't know much about electrical. Will the elec motor on this spreader care if it's AC or DC it's running on? Can i just solder on a wall plug instead of the cig plug? Then i could use the switch in the cab to turn the spreader on and off which would be nice.
Or I was thinking of mounting a 5 watt solar pannel on the roof of the topper and having that charge a deep cycle battery in the bed to run these gadgets??
A dual battery setup would be nice, like the National Luna setup, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoWuVp23k6I) but I don't have the money for that right now.

Suggestions??

Yes! The motor will care very much about AC or DC. I'm thinking it might be easier to wire it into your trailer lights than convert it to AC. $.02
