Ok, gonna try to control my anger for this post. Here goes...

My SAW Racerunners had the infamous "harsh ride" problem. Spoke to Ryan Shimp, Director of Sales and Marketing at SAW, and he said "No problem, send them in, I'll fix them most likely under warranty, and I'll ship 'em back".

Sent out 2-3 day ground shipping on December 21st.

Ryan notified me that they were done on January 4th two weeks later, but I assumed the mail was slow and after all it's Christmas). No problem, right?

Waiting on the SAW's, waiting, finally call Monday and didn't get anyone. Called Tuesday and Ryan told me that there was a mix up and the SAW's were left on the bench. Done, but left on the bench. He said he shipped them out Monday, THE 10TH!

I was a little mad, but I figured that they were on their way and I'd get them on this morning. A nice gesture by Ryan Shimp though, he did all the warranty work for no charge (expected) but didn't charge me for the parts to rebuild the shocks. Also didn't charge me for shipping the shocks back to me.

BUT WAIT..... Open the box this morning to put them on, and one of the Schrader valves is CUT in HALF. The cap was on the valve, but I took the cap off because it appeared loose and the valve stem came out with half the threaded part of the valve housing still in the cap!

I guess it's at least 3 more days of riding the bike and bumming rides.

*Royally pissed*

Should I demand a rental car from SAW? I'm going to demand that SAW pays my shipping overnight.

Well It sounds like you should be pissed at UPS not Saw. Was the packing all thrashed like that tossed it around alot? I'm sure Ryan will get intouch with you soon. I'm sure he will take care of you. Sorry to hear about your issue shrader valves are very delicate.

I've had aluminum tubes inside heavy-duty cardboard shipping tubes cut in 1/2 as though it was done by a chainsaw. UPS sorting machines are not your friend.

And the abuse the drivers dish out on packages when no one is watching would really blow your mind.

I ship a lot of stuff through UPS at work and if I've learned anything from it it's that they are capable of destroying anything no matter how well you package it.

That does sound like a UPS problem not Sway-A-Way...

The Schrader valve got slammed into something and the the threads acted like a score mark (stress riser) causing it to crack. The cap didn't break because it's steel and not scored, plus once the aluminum Schrader valve broke the cap wasn't bearing the load anymore. So your really just mad because SAW took a few extra days to get your shocks back over what you originally expected. Really I don't think you should demand anything from them...

Ryan is a very reliable person
I am sure not getting them when you expected them is def frustrating
However, I think as all have said that UPS is at fault
Ask Ryan is they were insured for their full value
File a claim with UPS to get back the full value of them

Well to make a long story short, Ryan shipped me a new Schrader valve overnight. I got them charged at a local motorcycle shop, put it on and things were great... or so I thought.

I rented a car for 2 days, with Ryan's permission. I sent him a fax of the rental car receipt, and a description of the charges. Even threw in a state employee 5% discount. Total was about $95. STILL waiting on the check. It's been almost six weeks. Finally got in touch with him yesterday, he said the receptionist only mails checks every two weeks but it's ready to go out..... OK, so it shoud have been here 3 weeks ago!!!

ugh
