105k tires only been on there for 5 months tranny had 60k on it. got a new one at 40k under warranty for slipping.
4.88 was done shorlty after. ran 33s before with stock gears.

I get the feeling you got shortchanged on that rebuild. A proper rebuild will last a LONG time. I have in the past had excellent rebuilds, and lousy ones. The only way to find out is to drive the truck, unfortunately. Say the bronze bushings were replaced, but with plastic ones. Say the planetary gear assembly was re-used, with some slop in it. So many possible issues. Maybe you tow stuff with the truck. Maybe you overheated the trans real bad. Obviously, I don't know for sure, and maybe you don't either. I'd search for a recommended shop to do your truck this time, and NOT the guys who did it last time. 'Cause here's the deal. Little things mean a LOT to an auto tranny. And many shops just rebuild 'em, quick and easy. Sometimes it takes a wizard to see the little thing that will not last another 50k. Certain shops develop a 'feel' for certain rigs. Maybe you will hit up this board and find who you are looking for. It will probably cost more than you want to hear...sorry.

well teh prev owner wheeled it ALOT. ive pretty much redone the truck. so maybe it was worn adn when i put the 35s on it it pushed it over the limit. gears shouldnt cause any tranny problems should they. thats the last thing i did.

No, the gears helped the truck. The last guy was the culprit, he tooled it up for you to fix. Wow, soory 'bout that. As you figured, the gears reduced the stress, and transferred the power down thew line better than stock. Maybe find a tranny... and save up some dough. Build the lunched trans the way you need it, over time. Then, swap it in, and be good to go.We all have a budget, that I respect for sure.

What could help you out is a valve body upgrade that increased line pressure in the tranny, tranny cooler and some synthetic atf. Im not supercharged and i dont tow but for safe measure i got a trd cooler hooked up in series with my stock cooler along with a remote tranny oil filter setup with a filter magnet attached to the filter. I know its over kill but at least it helps. Remember that when you go big weither its a lift or bigger tires something has to give eventually, in this case its your tranny. Once something gets bigger you have to beef up other componets. Next time you get a tranny get a secondary cooler, a valve body up grade from level 10 and some good synthetic atf. If that fails get a higher performance tranny that can take all the abuse.
