I got a question about re-gearing, I have used the search function but still don’t feel comfortable about making a decision. First a little back ground about my truck. It’s a 2001 TRD Tacoma V6, me being the first and only owner. Had 20K miles on in when It was hit and flipped over by a driver on a cell phone…hmmmm. Any ways that helped me decide it was time for a few Mod’s—lol. Im now running a, 6” lift with 35” tires, and thinking about re-gearing it. So I just went out to look for my gear code on the driver's side door jamb only to find it has been removed when they repaired the left side of my truck. So my question is: Can I find this info any other place on the truck? And what gearing should I go with? I’m not planning on doing any thing off-road that the truck would not have done stock I lifted it because I like tough looking trucks. But want to regain the power I lost from going to the 35 and get some of that gas mileage back. I thought about leaving the re-gearing up to the shop but know it would be in my best interest to know what size gearing to go with before I turned them loose on my truck. Thank you for any help you might be able to give to me.
