Just thought I would share my experience.
I purchased a Uniden pro520xl and a Wilson 4' silver load flex-4 antana with 18' of heavy coax cable. I had to dremal the plastic behind the ashtray to slide the cb as far back as possible. Had to pick up a L shaped coax connector, mount it to the back of the cb to try and get a nice flush mount.
One problem I ran into was that my manual shifter hits the connector for the mic in both 3rd and 5th gear when the mic is attached. It still works but it will eventually beat up the wiring for the mic where it connects to the CB. I was thinking about flipping the CB upside down to get the mic connector to the opposite side and away from the shifter but then it looks kinda cheezy upside down and it will muffle the speaker.
I wired the cb to my cigarette lighter which works fine but I do get some feedback when some of the electrical components are energized, ex. the windshield wipers. Wiring it directly to the battery would probably solve this.
Anyone have a remedy for this, besides relocating the cb? I guess I could cut into the AC duct to push the CB back even further but I don't really want to do that.
