My Tacoma squeeks!!! HELP!!!
I have a 1998 Tacoma standard cab, automatic, 4x4. When I decell (let off the gas) my truck squeeks, screeches, screams horribly from the rear under the bed. Loud. I read on this board to grease the rear shock rubbers, which I did but the problem still persists. It's driving me crazy!!! Any ideas what it might be? I'm thinking it's the rear leaf springs...

Thanks

shackles/hangers, go thur water, dries, thats what u hear happens to me a lot, a temp fix is wd 40, or just jack it up, take them off with dead blow mallet and put some elbow grease on it

I've had driveshafts make a screeching noise before when I took my foot off the gas pedal.

If you haven't greased it lately it might be worth a try.

If it is the shackles and/or main eye bushing making the noise, greasable shackles have completely solved that problem on my truck.
