I have a 99' tacoma with a 2.7L 4 cylinder. The engine is on its way out. The 2.7 was adequate but I think I want something with a little more power. I was thinking either a V-6, or a 4 cylinder turbo a buddy of mine was talking about the 22 ret. The advice that I am hoping you guys can provide is information on the actual transplant of the engine. Specifically my transmition will it mate up, or not any custom fabrication that might be necessary. Also any info on prices of parts or instalation would be greatly appreciated.

Why not install a supercharger on it? Or do you mean the engine is shot? If it is, that's scarey because my truck is a '97.

I wonder if a Vortec would drop in there. I was always impressed by Vortecs.
