I searched but I don't that thread went unconclusive.

I to want a pair of nerf bars/tube steps that don't hang so far away from the body/frame. I know there's been discussion as to whether they need to attach to frame or the cab. I just don't want there to be huge gap between the body and nerf bar. I've seen them out there just don't know who makes them :( So if you have some nice profile pics that would be sweet! and if you could say what brand they are also.
THanks GUYS!

(And yes I know sliders are far superior to nerf bars and can be made to hug the body as close as possible)

I have a set of Manik tube steps on my double cab. They attach to the body at the factory running board mounts...

I think it largely depends on what cab you have. I know on double cabs, there are already mounts underneath the body to acommodate factory running boards. I'm not sure if the x-cabs and regular cabs have these mounts. Some tube steps mount to the body mount; sandwiched between the frame and body. Others mount directly to the frame.

I have a 3" body lift on mine, and luckily, I already had tube steps that mounted to the body, so I didn't have to mess with a gap and they help disguise the body lift quite nicely.

I'll take look underneath my truck. I'll call manik and see what there bars attach to for the extra cab. You wouldn't by chance have pics of underneath your truck to see where yours are attached to. If you have time or get bored

Thanks

I had SmittyBuilts on my x-cab before I got the sliders. I thought they had the best look and fit of most nerf bars I've seen. I really hate the short ones that came from the dealers. There's 2 different models from Smitty, and I'm not sure which one I had, but this one mounted to the brackets up front by the frame.

Try this link: http://community.webshots.com/photo/245913100/253115763IQNEOf , or if that doesn't work, click on my Pics below and you'll find a pic of my Taco w/ the Smittys.
