so this was my christmas trip to moab, finally got around to posting the pics and braggin :D got a new camera from the folks and had to take some good pics of the truck.

agenda for the weekend was moab-prescott-sedona-grandcanyon-moab good little round trip got into moab about 1130 tuesday night wheeled wensday morning and did seven mile rim, no pics this was before christmas. so we did seven mile in roughly 6inches-a foot of snow with out issue besides trail finding ended up missing uranium arch :(. wipe out hill was looking tempting but after failing to find an exit point if i went down, i wasnt about to try it going back up, even though most of it was free of snow. we met up with my dad at 3ish and did another small run close by forget the trail name but route finding was near impossible and we turned around.

prescott with the grand parents was good except for the costco turkey dinner (NOT ADVISED)

we hit up sedona the day after and ran into a beehive of pink jeeps on broken arrow. luckly near sunset the trail cleared up. ran the staircase down and then back up again and went up the slide did the usuall small fun obstacles and the new tires did great! did i mention they hooked up in the snow in moab? and didnt give me any problems! i was running the pro comp extreme mt's, what can i say i like the name!:D

the grand canyon was as always spectacular! except for it being the holiday weekend and a buttload of tourist that had no idea what ice was let alone how to drive on it... many a bus was stuck.... lucky to get pics before sunset!

and the final moab report; we ran into a pretty new land rover on fins and things (the only trail we got to run that day) snow had melted except for one steep decent in the shadow that made the landy scrape a bumper on the slide down. did all the climbs on fins and things except for one that denied me but oh well theres always next time

overall a great vacation and so on to the pics

Nice, I wondered what Moab looked like in the winter.

Can't believe you did 7-mile in 6-12" of snow.. finding that route with it clear is hard enough.

My mom and pops went down to Sedona once. The paid for the pink jeep tour and sent me back some pix. He said I'd have liked it, but there's no way I could enjoy myself being a passenger in a pink jeep.

we were using alot of triangulation with the buttes to figure out wear to go, plus alot of scouting out trail before hand it was pretty fun i gotta say b/c i felt like sherlock holmes trying to find a killer

"ahh yes i see traces of rubber compound on this rock heading in a southeastern manner. paired with the location off merrimac i beleive we head...... that way!"

i ended up on an atv trail that crossed over the butte that seven mile runs around dont know how though!

oh and when i checked wipe out hill i thought to my self "DAMN! that old man is f'n NUTS!)

Great pics! Looks like a nice time of year to be there. Was your dad a little nervous getting tippy on the side hill like that?
