I just bought some new wheels for my 2000 4Runner. I took them to be mounted on my truck and was told they just barely rubbed on the front calipers. So they could not mount them. I just put wheels on we I got home and yes they barely rub! Is it safe to grind away just a bit of the caliper so the wheels will clear? The rims are 16x8 with a 4.25bs. I really don't want to get rid of these wheels! So if someone could help that would be great!!

how much of a rub is it? if you can get the wheel on but it barely rubs, then just take a dremmel or die grinder to it and shave a tiny portion off. Or you can go the 75$ route and buy spacers.

I bought some 1/4" spacers. But when I put the rims on the rims the studs are to short!
are you rubbing the brake sheild? still dont know how the hell youd be rubbing

i had some 16x8 with less backspacing (4.5") and i did fine with those.

No, the rim won't bolt on because the studs are too short
