What are some of the prices that you have paid for your new Tacoma. List models and options. When you see the price on the window should you expect to get a better deal than that? I would like to hear from as many as possible so I can learn what to expect when I talk to a dealer. What would a good price be on a extra cab 4x4 v6? with TRD?
What about all that 50 state pollution and all that extra crap the dealer uses to raise the price? Just wanting any information on buying a new one to keep from getting taken too bad. Even though I may but another salvage truck that has been fixed. I have had very good luck with them.
Also how is the reliability of the auto transmissions on Tacoma's . Most of the used V6's I find are auto which I'm not crazzy about but sometime you find a good deal.

6 speed
Radio upgrade (6 disk changer)
Bed matt
Wheel locks

I checked multiple dealers, got prices anywhere from straight MSRP to $500 over cost. Plenty of websites list dealer cost, do your homework then visit the dealers.

Just got an 05 4cyl access cab sr5 with pretty much everything. Has the upgraded 6 disc changer stereo (which is awesome), floor mats, bed mat, and their fancy exhaust tip. $22,499. Stickered for 24,228 I think. I don't think I did too bad. My fiance's brother is going to buy a doublecab 6 speed trd sport as soon as my dealer can find him one in indigo. I'm sure that one's going to be pricey.

05 Double Cab TRD Off Road Pkg w/ tow package, 4x4, Silver, Automatic, 6-Disc Changer, Floor Mats, Skid Plate, Bed Extender. I was right at $27K and that was a couple of months ago. With the Frontier out now, you can probably deal a little bit more.

Tacoma Double cab prerunner, $21,500 base plus the SR5 Package 8, $3,900 All the Sr5 stuff, bumper chrome interior extras, Up graded wheel and tire package, Tow package, 130 amp alternator, heavy duty battery, Wiring, class IV hitch, Limited Slip differential. Added a Leather interior, a very nice leather, $1300. Total out the door $26,000. Trade on old 2001 meant $7000 down. I can't drive it or park it anywhere without someone saying nice truck great color. I had to special order it and waited 6 weeks for delivery. Oh and $300 for the matching side steps that match the rims. Only Toyota has them.

Edmunds.com 'true market value' stated 26,200ish, their invoice stated ~$25,250 (which included Holdback, Destination, Advertisement Fee and a few other 'F-U' charges)...i paid $25,570. Truck had to be ordered (6-weeks), and should be received late February.

Using the online buying sites(ie autobytel.com and others), the best they offered was $26,100. I didn't even try to negotiate with the online peeps. I could have had it at $26,000 w/ 2 years maintenance, but opted for $25,750 w/o maintenance.
