Just sold my CJ7 and bought a 96 Tacoma extended cab 4x4. It has the 2.7 engine in it with a 5 speed. The engine has 236,000 miles on it, is there anything I should look for that would be trouble? What do I need to do to keep this baby alive and running? I have heard the 2.7's are pretty tough engines, is this true?

Any help will be appreciated, because I don't know much about Toyotas.

Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome. The Heep was a nice Heep. I had replaced everything including the body but got tired of working on it, that was all I did. 3 rear wheel bearings in 3000 miles said it was time to go.

Thanks for the article, I will have to give that a whirl. I don't ever recall seeing Seafoam in the greater Oneida area, will have to look harder.

Thanks again!
