Toyota of Dallas says they won't ship outside the contiguous US.

Even when I pay their rip off shipping fee of $50 for an igniter.

It's confirmed. No shipping Toyota parts out of the contiguous States.

Unreal! Thanks Toyota.

I doubt that is a Toyota thing but more likely a dealership thing with the folks in Dallas. Them Texan's can be strange sometimes, big heads with itty bitty brains inside. LOL

Does Hawaii not have any Toyota dealers?
The local Toyota is asking for $630 for an igniter. Dallas only $367.

Even with the required $50 for shipping it's a big savings.

Thank you Dick Foster and Showstop for the offers to help:) I may have it figured out already.

BTW Toyota of Dallas said it was Toyota Corp. that made this rule in Febuary.

You check out aftermarket ignitors for your 2000 Tacoma, maybe at Rock Auto online, or even Amazon.com? Amazon has free shipping option. But I will sound "smart a$$" for $367 to $630, you can probably buy interisland ticket to Honolulu or other islands, and shop around for aftermarket ignitors at Napa, etc. I checked out Toyota of Dallas website, it really fawked they do not ship to Hawaii. I used to order parts from Toyota of Dallas, they usually ship to my home in Hawaii Island via Priority Mail, never was charged $50 for shipping.:D

Napa sells a non Denso igniter for $400. I'd rather have Denso for that price. I sent one from TOD to Cali and will have it sent to me from there.

I guess I need to hook up with a salvage yard on Oahu or mainland who will give a warranty on parts for my future needs. Kauai has nothing.

Fer pity sake don't be ignante, learn to use the Internet already.

Here's one on EBay for all of 25 bucks which is about what it's really worth.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-4RUNNER-3-4L-TACOMA-LEXUS-ES300-89621-35020-DS62-IGNITER/231558666444?_trksid=p2054897.c100204.m3164&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=20140407115239&meid=bd62d0c245864bdab14edf9fdf733dbb&pid=100204&rk=12&rkt=29&sd=331540538284

It took me all of maybe 3 minutes to find one.

You can also try the national salvage parts sites like Car Part.com

I am sorry you were disappointed. Unfortunately there is more to this than meets the eye.

It is not our policy that prohibits international shipments, it is a Toyota policy. The policy includes shipments that we knowingly process that are intended to go outside the US.

The policy states " It is TMS's policy that Toyota dealers sell Genuine Toyota Parts and Accessories, as defined in the Toyota Dealer Agreement, only to customers located in TMS’s primary market area (PMA), which is the continental U.S. and Alaska." Additionally, it is stated that “In addition, Toyota dealers shall not sell Genuine Toyota Parts and Accessories to customers located within TMS’s PMA if the dealer knows, or reasonably should know, that the parts or accessories will be sold, exported or transferred by such customer, directly or indirectly, to any place outside of TMS’s PMA.”

If you have any further questions regarding Toyota's policy please contact Toyota Motor Sales USA directly at 1-800-468-6968 and reference PANT bulletin January 2015 Revision of TMS Parts and Accessories Export Sales Policy 2012-066, Renamed the TMS Parts and Accessories Sales Policy 2015-006 dated February 2, 2015.

As far as our shipping fee, here is why that is. Since we only ship Continental 49, Fedex is now our default. We usually used to ship a package like that via USPS Priority for about $8-$12, but we have since turned off the USPS shipping to Hawaii option, since we can no longer ship there. Anyone trying to purchase parts now to Hawaii now only sees the Fedex ground option. This is what Fedex would charge us for shipping ground to a Hawaii zip code.

Rate type: Net

FedEx Home Delivery®
Billed Weight: 2.0
Total Base Charge: 28.07
Total Discount: 0.00
Net Freight Charge: 28.07
-------- Surcharges ---------------------
Declared Value: 3.80
Fedex Home Delivery Urban/rural Charge: 2.02
Delivery Area Surcharge Hawaii Residential: 12.00
Fedex Ground Fuel: 1.68
-------------------------------------------
Total Surcharges: 19.50
Total Net Charge: 47.57
Total Net Charge with Handling: 47.57

Again, I apologize again we were unable to meet your expectations. This policy has taken almost 30% of our overall business away, so it's certainly not something we are happy with. I thank you for considering us for your parts and accessory needs.

Fuckin Toyota lamebrains! Hawaii became a fully fledged state August 21, 1959. Even I can remember that. The more Detroit shitheads they hire, the dumber they get.

Maybe has to do with some district "mumbo jumbo" but I recently got OEM parts directly from a Toyota dealer located in People's Republic of Commiefornia via Amazon. This was in April 2015.:D

Crap crap crap!

This is so we in Hawaii have to pay 100% mark up on parts I guess.

Maybe I should buy a Jeep.

If your joking or not. No buy Jeep, or GM, both piece of chits, only Toyota holds it's value longer, and more dependable. You see in Middle East, they mostly drive Toyotas in desert.:D

Fuck Toyota's corporate, retared, lame brained bullshit.

BTW No one put a gun to your head and forced you to go live out in the middle of the damn Pacific ocean. I thought you folks called it paradise.

I am joking. No Jeep for me.

Dick I know there have been offers to help and appreciate them all.

I have shipping covered. Like you said I'm just whining about the stupid policy. As for living here..there's always a trade off. I'm actually thinking about moving if I can save enough.
