I got this from our club, if you are in Norcal you may want to attend.

A number of us went to the public meeting BLM had last night in Ukiah to help with development of their Land Use Plan. Rich Burns the resource manager for the Ukiah office called this public meeting soliciting input from all users of BLM lands in Northern California. Mountain bikers, hikers, equestrian groups, motor cyclists and off-road enthusiasts were present. We were challenged to review 9 different geographical regions and make suggestions for a 10 - 20 year plan that BLM might adopt. After a few hours of discussing primarily how we would like to see the South Cow Mountain area be developed, we quickly came to the realization that more input is needed. Although under tight time constraints, BLM has agreed to give us another week to formalize our ideas from the motorized off road enthusiasts perspective.

The Ukiah field office manages more than 300,000 acres of public land in Lake, Mendocino, Marin, Napa, Sonoma, Glenn, Colusa, Yolo and Solano counties. The draft resource plan now being developed will provide management direction for the next 20 years. BLM is hosting a series of public workshops, this is your opportunity to get involved.

We are holding an emergency meeting next Wednesday, March 2, at 6:30pm to gather more input from OHV enthusiasts on the future of Northern California BLM resources. Our objective is to focus on Cow Mountain, Knoxville and possibly Indian Valley Reservoir. Identify where we would like to see resources and improvements in those areas over the next 20 years. In addition I would also like to catch some specifics to these areas, like roads and trails that need improvements, trails no longer used, new routes needed or campsite development. Get involved, especially if you are familiar with these areas. We will have maps available. Invite your friends that want to preserve and improve our off road trails on Northern California BLM lands.

The meeting will be at Windsorland RV Park clubhouse.
WINDSORLAND RV PARK
9290 Old Redwood Hwy
Windsor, CA 95492

Follow the entrance straight back to a forced left turn. Continue to a gate, the paved road stops. Follow to the left to the clubhouse.

Wow, I wish all OHV groups were as organized. Good job. :) If people don't participate, their interests won't be recognized. I hope you get a good turnout.
