we usually head right through there and take 58 over the pass.

I don't know if that will be the same route this year.

Andy is leaving a day early and staying over in Vegas but I think most of us were just going to make the trek on Thurs April 4th all the way into AZ. I didn't know if anyone else from the area was going and if everyone wants to meet up and ride in together. I am sure Mike, Dean and I will be causing trouble all the way out, but as for John and Dick? And not that any of you read anything on our local chapter board, but figured this was best suited for here. Its 4 weeks away as of today and thought I'd put this out there in case I'm missing any ideas.

But as of last night Mike and I talked about leaving the bay area around 6 or 7am and possibly taking an alternate route other than 15 through Vegas. Then wheeling Fri and Sat and returning home sometime on Sun. But if some of you happen upon this thread and have a different plan might be nice to hear what everyone is planning...

I would think it would be more convienent to just fill the paperwork out and have it mailed to you instead of going into Phoenix. But that is an option.

Like Nic said, im going to TRY and leave work around noonish on wednesday, truck packed and all.....

Head straight to vegas, hopefully there by 9pm....check in, shit, shower, shave...play some craps for hours and have a relaxing beverage or two.

Not sure what time i get up, but hoping to be outta the casino by 9am and on the way to azrocks. There was talk of a run on thursday afternoon, and I would love to make that run....sounded like it WAS possible to make if I left by 9am....I THINK vegas was like 6 hours away, I forgot, and have not done mapping yet. 2nd option would be to sleep a little longer, and try and connect with the Norcal-Socal caravan before getting to our destination.

Im half-winging it, and half planning it. which means something will probably put a kink in it (vegas tang?????) and delay me....

Return plans tentativly are to get up ass early on sunday and drive like a motherfucker home. Supposed to go to work on Monday, but Im thinking of calling the boss on Sunday and taking another day. I would rather take my time coming home then have to hammer down, not rest enough, not beat my truck up by going 80-90mph for 14hrs straight....and trying to wake up at 5am the next morning for work.

I vote for leaving Concord at 7AM on Thursday. I'm not going anywhere near LA, so I think highway 58 would be the best bet. It's 12.5 - 14 hours to get there depending on lots of stuff.

Dick usually leave a day early and stays in Barstow. I would do the same if I could get off Wed. I'm getting too old for 12hr+ drives w/o a pass/co-driver...
