So almost a year later, here's what happened:

um... pushed this tan pile outside
bought a few other 4Runners
rolled one
sold a few other 4Runners
bought that 98 for a song
made bumpers for that 98
picked up FJ Cruiser wheels for that 98
pushed this tan pile back inside
got a wiring harness from Off Road Solutions
got another 23 spline input from Marlin
(dual cases need TWO, duh me...)
put together the dash
sold tons of spare parts
relocated the ram to the front-top of the diff
realized I may have to re-do the engine mounts up about an inch
had a beer or two

:grin2:

Fired up the 3.4 last night; have to figure out why the fuel pump isn't staying on with the ignition. It gets prime to start, but doesn't keep it to stay running. Bet I forgot to plug in something... but at least it runs!

Next up:
make battery tray
finish exhaust piping
remove unused wiring
assemble cases
make drive shafts (maybe)
long slip front shaft (absolutely)
get Rock Assault steering pump/stuff
rear disc swap
install Chevy springs
adjust rear perches a few degrees (pinion angle n such)

...and much, much more!

*talking to the wall*

Let's see...
put the cases together w/ Marlin 23 spline inputs n new bearings
*note* new bearings are 2mm thicker than old bearings and will cause the cases to bind
ended up milling out the TG adapter plate to get everyone to play nice
ran the exhaust out back, ran out of welding wire
removed unneeded wiring
got the ORS harness installed, fired up on the first kick
got a steering pump, original mounting bolt wouldn't fit so I tried to drill the pump... ended up killing it. Apparently there's a 3.4-specific pump that isn't directly listed on Low Rang or TG's websites. Oh, it's there but you're directed to buy the $560 KIT instead of just the pump. FML. Before I realized that, I got another $240 pump (dammit) and talked to Low Range about my issue. They were cool about it, so I'm waiting on TG to send me the correct pump in exchange for the second pump I bought and didn't install. I still think it's pretty fucked they don't say "Hey 3.4 guys! This is the pump you need!" because I can't be the only moron out there.
Anywho...
installed a steering cooler
painted the Addicted tube bumper (won that at Jambo last year)
tried to make a battery tray but it got in the way of steering lines
got fresh window regulators and weather stripping
installed some huge fan I had laying around, made a shroud
got a sweet 6-switch setup from Amazon that also has dual USB charger, cigarette lighter, and volt meter
de-rusted the A pillar, painted it in preparation for a new windscreen someday

That's about it I think, now it's just a matter of getting more cash flow to get more shit done. I might be able to wheel it a little before the end of 2017...

Is this going to be ready to wheel before February 2018?

Um... I got the Cadillac horns installed and working properly, added some 3/16" plate to the fuel tank skid, and decided to go ahead with the Chevy springs already. They have been laying around for years; might as well put them on. I finally got the last door pieces I needed to swap in the one-piece glass because I hate the little vent windows. Now they roll up n down all smooth-like and don't fall off the tracks. And new regulators help a lot with that.

Coming soon: new spring perches for a better rear pinion angle, finish the last 90* bend of exhaust, make an airbox and better intake tubing, and finish the steering pump fiasco.

Then wrap it up and stick it outside for the winter.
