I have an apparent oil leak at my oil pressure sender.
I have a 1998 3RZ-FE ENGINE with 151K miles and have noticed oil seepage at various locations.
Anybody else have this problem wth their 3RZ-FE???

Take it out and use some teflon tape.

Thread Sealant ...

I had a similar senerio last week. In my case, I added an electrical oil pressure sender. I found out that it leaked oil when I saw a couple oil drips under my truck. Later I added some of the Permatex Thread Sealant on the oil sender threads before I install the sender back and let it dry before driving the truck. Later when the sealant looked dry, I drove for a day and went back and checked the following morning and guess what.....no more oil leakage. So I guess the thread sealant worked. Hope this help ! Phu ;)

Thanks

I appreciate that post, I have to say that is what i had intended on installing once I replaced the stock sender
How did you do it and what gauge did you use and how did yu get it to work?
I am goingto have to do this soon
the stock unit has been leaking for awhile, not signifigant, but def leaking, maybe because I am using Mobile 1
I think my oil pan gasket is leaking as well, since 100K I would imagine
can you email me pics of your sender and gauge?

Yes...I did all the mods and maintenance on the truck myself and with help from dad and brothers when I needed more than two hands. What can I say-it's my hobby and I'm a tacoholic. BTW, I used Faze electrical gauges. I don't have any pics yet but I remember that I had to use an extension in order to get the oil pressure sender away from touching the oil pan. You might want to check out Gadget's site where he has good stuffs on mods. Here are the links to the Faze gauges and Gadgets. Hope this help. Phu ;)
