I just bought a 2002 tacoma 4x4 with V6 and auto tranny. It came with the factory rear diff locker. I have never used one before so I was curious what you guys think of this particular unit and how well it works (or doesnt work) and any other feedback.

I dont plan on any hardcore offroading.

It works very well. Use it like you should and it'll last you quite some time. When you feel yourself losing traction, flip it on. And when you don't need it, keep it off. Also, if you plan on doing the grey wire mod, be sure to ground it to bare metal. Have fun out there!

They are a great locker. If you do a lot of mud and water wheeling the solenoid can fail but some people do away with the electric shift solenoid and change it to a manual cable locker.
