I put way too much grease in my yoke, to the point where I could hear groaning from the front transfer case. Now what do I do to fix the situation?

Assuming you mean slip joint... Just unscrew the grease zerk. Be prepared for the excess grease to squirt out. When it stops, replace the zerk, and you're done. Be happy - this was an easy fix...

You have to pull the driveshaft, separate the sections and somehow remove some of the grease. You could pop off the cap under the u-joint, but be prepared to reinstall it. That cap will also sometimes pop off from the pressure if you over grease it.
I see you like to do things the hard way.
