FYI, you can paint the factory chrome bumper. I've done 3 of them personnally, it turns out real nice.

I'm not really a painter but was interested in painting my chrome. What were the basic steps you used in the process to make it look good, prevent corrosion? Thanks. Any pics? If so, [email protected]

sand it completly, but you dont need to remove all the chroming. Just scuff it all out with 150 grit, use an automotive grade primer, usually the grey stuff. Sand that smooth with 200 grt and spray a couple coats of desired color. Paint it in a dust free environment and make sure its completely free of junk in the paint. Shoot a clear coat over the color coats or just mix it in with the final coat and all is good.
