My passenger side door handle quit working on my 2002 xcab. The lock still works, and the door can be opened from the inside handle. Just will not from the outside. Has anyone else had this problem? It was too cold on the weekend to take the door panel apart to have a look at it. If this is a commen problem can someone tell me how they went about fixing it.

sounds like the linkage for the outside handle has come off or broken. Only way to fix is pull the inner panel and check the linkage.

Exactly right. If you have crank up windows, good luck removing the handle. It is a PITA to get loose. Wrap a long rag around the handle and firmly pull. It will be difficult.

Go easy with the plastic wrapper behind the inner panel, and watch that black adhesive mess. Those plastic clips might need to be replaced if you use to much force to remove. Be careful, the inner panel costs $$$$ to replace!

Take your time and allow lots of time.
