*ATTEND A PUBLIC MEETING AND SPEAK UP! *The Forest Service needs to know that the public cares about motorized recreation access and opportunities within the forest. They also need to know that we are conservationists and care about watershed protection and sustainability of trail systems within the forest to allow future use. They want to know about the places you care about. When speaking at a meeting, remember to explain who you are, your role in the community, and your family's interest in the area. Here are some suggestions of what you might want to ask the Forest Service to do in the Pike-San Isabel Forest Plan: * Protect and expand opportunities for motorized recreation. Motorized recreation is a valid form of recreation and cannot and should not be shut out of the public lands. * Manage all forms of recreational use in the forest in a balanced way so as to preserve the recreational experience of all users. * Recommend that all citizen proposed wilderness areas NOT be included in the plan, although some should be, but not all. * Protect watershed areas from all forms of recreation as they are the filters for our water. If we cannot recreate around a watershed area, neither should hikers, equestrians, or mountain bikers. * Follow the recommendations by Governor Owens for Inventoried Roadless Areas that was laid out by the Roadless Task Force in 2006. * Support the principles and recommendations of COHVCO regarding motorized recreation within the Pike San Isabel National Forest.

Thanks!
TBob

PS - u goys don't have a land issues folder, something u might think about adding

thats good stuff tbob,i dont know much about that area, i live over on the western slope, hopefully someone will chime in
the better place for land use stuff being posted in colorado is:
http://www.colorado4x4.org/vbb/?
the people over there are way more involved, and have extensive experience with these kinds of issues, meetings etc...and probably aready know these land managers as well as the issues at hand,i would like to see more people on this board get involved no ?
just a side note: most green organizations read off rd forums to see what we are up to(believe it or not),but believe it! i've heard of people being busted after someone found some post and knew what was up was illegal, anti green sig comments make us look like the enemy to them,it's your choice no doubt, and i respect your right to say whatever you want, but this may give them more reasons to make us look bad, i have seen many discussions on this very subject on a few different forums, most people are under the impression that it's just more ammo for them against us, and thats not the impression we are trying to make with the people we need to try and work with,i learned this from peeps who do alot of land issue work here in Colo and i trust them when they say watch out, and we all know how big brother works, right?

not sure I understand any of your post - "i would like to see more people on this board get involved no ?"
why wouldn't you - involvement in land matters are important if you want to keep the trails open.

"just a side note: most green organizations read off rd forums to see what we are up to(believe it or not),but believe it! i've heard of people being busted after someone found some post and knew what was up was illegal, anti green sig comments"
The fact that I have an opinion on this certain group and am not afraid to display it - what is the problem there?
Oh yea some greenie might bring up in a meeting that TBob on the TTORA forum doesn't like us - boy that would be real bad.

Sit on you ass and do nothing - then you can bitch when the green bastards shut it all down.

you are not understanding me at all, i want more people to get involved, thats what i meant, and i guess you missed the part about me respecting whatever you want to say,i'm all for free speech and upholding our rights,i'm just stating facts i have been involved in or witnessed with our lovely laws etc...,and if you respected my opinion you would see my point,as i did yours,i try to keep things neutral on these sites but it always turns into a pissing match with most folks, and thats why i just go to the source of info to find out the facts about land issues, get involved and see what i can contribute from there, and i am involved and thats why i said what i said,so respect me, and i'll respect you, thats why this community never gets anywhere because no one can agree and be on the same page, so please slow down and read before you just get fired up, i do believe we are on a similar team, and if i didnt care, i wouldn't even post up, i'd just sit idle until it's all closed up like you said,i meet you this last oct out in moab as well, so please man be reasonable, your the one posting in our state, about our issues so... like i said go to colo4x4 and you'll see whats up with the folks that are really involved, and sorry to say, but cottora isnt too active in any respect, peace

sorry man my interpretation of your post must have been wrong - sounded to me like that u thought other that were involved were enough and that my signature was a big problem. I just posted this up to make u guys aware of some issues, so possible, thows effected could get involved and yea I don't live in CO that is why I posted it on your board. I've been dirt biking in CO since the early 90's going up to different areas each year to ride and camp for a week and I think CO has done some of the best jobs with OHV'ers and trails, hope to see it stay that way.
Sorry for coming off so abrupt - it's obvious that I didn't get the intent of your post.

- TBob
