Went up Old Stage today, hit the first 1/3 of Eagle Rock before the great fireball in the heavens went away... it got cold fast! The snow isn't deep at all; maybe 6" off-trail. It's pretty dug out and the first turn has new rocks I don't remember from 2 years ago. Do they move uphill or something? It looked like a few other rigs went up before us; tires looked like radial military Wranglers, KM2s, DuraTracs and one other set I couldn't pinpoint. Their tracks went up around the first turn and did not double back, so I'd venture a guess that the trail is open through to Saran Wrap or wherever it ends; I forget.

And it was balls-cold today even without any wind.

Ninja edit: Since it's a ways off, anyone care to get some sort of trail maintenance thing going here? I know we'll have to talk to the USFS, but maybe it's early enough to get the (slow-ass) ball rolling?

It wasn't so bad since the wind was absent; but once the sun started to set... forget it.

Airing back up in Cripple Creek was painful.
