So I'm replacing my rack and pinion and want to know everyones thoughts. Should I buy a new one off of rock auto for about $350, get a used one from my local junkyard for about $225 (which is the option I went with last time and the one I got didn't last too long and always felt loose to me), have it rebuilt at a shop or spend the $1100 Toyota wants for a new one. It will be going on my 2006 long travled tundra. thanks for your support

Remember that these items are REBUILD to factory specs... so they are NOT NOS.
I learned that from one that looked in great shape, but after one trip, the body filler they used to hide the corrosion gave away and showed this.

Luckily they replaced it with no fuss.
