I have a 1986 Pickup 4x4 5 speed base model only has 2 speakers under the dash....

The radio turns on, antenna is hooked up....

Both fuses under the hood and in the cab for the radio are good and have power with tester light.....

I have heard the speaker crackle one time... put new speakers in and nothing!...

I have no power to the speakers, but like I said the radio has power.. could it be the radio? its the original radio...

Doesn't appear to have any shorts or cuts in the speaker wiring harness...

Those speaker wires look bad. Go to Home depot and buy off the spool (Figure total length needed) monster speaker cable. Re-wire from the radio to the speakers.

Make sure they are phased. That's when the speaker cone moves in/out together. Check them side by side watching the cone move together before installing them. Make one lead to the speaker connector on each speaker to ensure you reconnect them back in phase in the dash. Or time for an upgrade as you can get a good aftermarket single DIN size one for $100. Try Crutchfield as they will send a wire connector to pre-wire that fits the OEM plug.
